At the end of February 2018 I had the chance to join a good old friend of mine on her trip to Colombia. We discovered a country under re-construction. There is hope, there is love. Children want to go to school and learn. It is beautiful to see their hope in life, simply. Colombia and its people are beautiful: from Bogota via Vila de Leyva to Medellin and Guatape; then from Santa Marta via Taganga to Minca. Last step of our trip was Cartagena and the Baru peninsula, before coming back to Bogota. We met lovely people on the road, we also had some many good arepas and other local dishes– and Nature, nature is stunning. I think my friend and I both fell in love ❤
My Top memory might be our (too) short stay at the eco-lodge Colores de la Sierra in Minca jungle. We did not know where we were going, we took a private car service from Santa Marta and two moto taxis to reach this unique location. I loved the place and the vibrations of the land, of nature all around. The sunset and sunrise as well was stunning with a view on Santa Marta port and on the Sierra Nevada all around! Unique breakfast while watching and hearing so many birds just in front of us.
Oh no, wait, this was my second Favourite moment of this trip 🙂 Because as you can see on the main picture, this group of happy girls made my day. I just wanted to have a look at the music school of Baru village my friend and I were visiting. I stopped by and met these adorable joyful girls who told me they were playing and learning how to go to the college. I could not say a word. It was simply beautiful. We sang a few pieces of songs together and with my poor spanish vocabulary, we shared a few words. They told me what instrument and what kind of song they like to sing at the music school. Again, they made my day.
A big thank you goes to my high school & bag pack friend Chris 🙂 PEACE
